Meeting – and exceeding – our Internet customers’ expectations is important, and Charter Business will be continually making additional enhancements to our Internet services. The information below supports our launch of PowerBoost.
What is PowerBoost®?

PowerBoost® allows customers who subscribe to designated Charter Business® Internet packages with download speeds of 20 or 30 Mbps to experience a temporary extra burst of speed during downloads when network capacity is available.

How will I know that I have experienced the PowerBoost speed enhancement?

Customers should notice a significant decrease in download times when they are downloading large files due to faster download speeds. There will be no formal notice that a customer has experienced the additional speed.

How long does the PowerBoost burst last?

PowerBoost is an added bonus that, depending on network availability, could last for several seconds when downloading activity occurs.

Will PowerBoost work with all customers' modems?

Customers will need a DOCSIS 1.1 modem or higher to experience PowerBoost.

What happens after the PowerBoost burst?

Once the PowerBoost is complete, download activity will continue at a normal download speed for Charter Business customers who have designated packages with 8 Mbps download speeds or higher.

How much does PowerBoost temporarily increase download speeds?

The download burst varies due to a variety of factors.

Is there an additional charge for PowerBoost?

Charter Business PowerBoost provides an extra ‘bonus’ for customers when downloading files, and it’s included at no additional cost with designated Charter Business® Internet packages that have a download speed of 8 Mbps or higher.

What do I need to do to get PowerBoost?

It is automatic for Charter Business customers with designated packages that have a download speed of 8 Mbps or higher and include a DOCSIS 1.1 modem or higher. These customers do not need to sign up to receive this service.

What can I do if my modem is not at least DOCSIS 1.1 compliant?

Customers with a leased modem from Charter Business will be contacted by letter with instructions on how to swap out their existing modem, at no additional cost. Customers can also call at 800.314.7195.
