Fact: Charter Business® Phone service uses your existing equipment.

  • Charter Business Phone works when connected to most PBXs, Key Telephone Systems or directly to analog telephones.‡

Fact: Charter Business® Phone gives you crystal-clear sound quality.

  • Many customers have commented that our sound quality is superior to that of their local phone company. This is because your voice is carried digitally, over a state-of-the-art broadband network, instead of through copper wiring.

Fact: Charter Business® Phone allows you to keep your current number you switch in the same location.

  • When you switch to Charter Business® Phone at your current location, you have the option to keep the same phone number or to choose a new one.

Fact: Charter Business® Phone includes one yellow and white page listing and a directory service (411) listing.

  • You can keep your same listing in the local phone book, or choose to get a new listing. (Additional listings are available for an additional monthly fee.)

Fact: Charter Business® Phone is compatible with several security systems.

  • Charter Business® Phone is compatible with several monitored security systems. In fact, Charter collaborated with one of the nation's leading security providers to ensure compatibility with their system.
  • While we are compatible with most systems, we still recommend that you contact your security system provider to ensure compatibility before Charter Business® Phone is installed.

Fact: Charter Business® Phone provides access to 911 emergency services.

  • Just like with regular phone service, calls you make to 911 with Charter Business® Phone are routed right to the local 911 operator and your name and location appear on the screen.

Fact: Charter Business® Phone is not voice over the internet.

  • We use a private network, not the internet to route your calls, so we can provide high-quality, reliable service.

  • **Long Distance anywhere minutes apply to direct-dial calls originating in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. Long distance packages available for an additional monthly fee.
  • ‡Charter Business Phone will not work when connected directly to digital phones. Charter Business Phone provides an analog business line with loop start signaling. The service will not work with ground start signaling equipment and digital telephones.
